With all the weather and school closures during the past week Catholic Schools Week activities will be pushed to the first week of February. However, we were able to get some of our teacher recommended students out into the community to pay a visit to our Police (2nd District) and Fire Departments (Ladder 42). Jose(8th grade), Emily(7th grade), GianLuca (5th grade) and Jocelyn(2nd grade) were thrilled to be called on to bring lunch, cards letters and hand crafted art to each location. Jocelyn handed out bible verse keychains with wooden crosses (crosses that are a part of our CYO Cross initiative—to give to those when we witness someone reflect Christian values). The Staff Sergeants, Lieutenants, Supervisors, Firemen, Officers and Detectives went above and beyond to show the students the facilities and answers all of their great questions! It was great to hear how many of them grew up in the community and even Catholic Schools. They expressed such wonderful appreciation for the visit and support! We thanked them for all of the blessings of protection they provide our community by their service, sacrifice, courage and commitment to keeping us safe. Please keep these wonderful people lifted in prayers always!
